About the Domain Name Owners Association
The Domain Name Owners Association is a trade association of domain name buyers, sellers and owners of all types dedicated to the advancement of the domain name industry through the building of trust and professionalism of its members.
The Domain Name Owners Association primary mission is:
- To advance professionalism and ethics throughout
the domain name industry;
- To enable domain buyers to identify trustworthy
sellers they can transact with safely;
- To assist with dispute resolution between Association
members and those they do business with, including serving as a consumer
protection advocate on behalf of our members in dealing with domain
related businesses;
- To provide verification of members' status of good
standing within the Association and a record of past feedback;
- To give members an opportunity to network with
fellow members in a safe and scoundrel-free environment;
- To offer its members practical information, discounts
and tools to assist them in developing and conducting business in
the domain name industry;
The cornerstone of the Association is its Code of Ethics. Every association member pledges to adhear to the Code's standards as a condition of admission and continuing membership in the Association.
In addition to member services above, the Association and its members seek to benefit the domain name industry by:
- Fostering public understanding of the domain name
system and promoting domain related trade throughout the world;
- Serving as an advocate to ICANN, the U.S. Congress,
State Legislatures and all government worldwide to protect the rights
and best interests of all domain name owners and safeguard the domain
name industry.
